Dec 23, 2014 6:00 AM in response to Yefchakby MichaelAustin,For anyone currently experiencing this, you can go into settings >> icloud >> backup and tell it to stop restoring.
I agree with a previous person that it would be nice to know if something is still in the process of being restored. I cannot tell and can only hope that if something has not yet been restored, it's in the cloud and still retrievable. My pictures are the only thing I can imagine taking this long.

Dec 31, 2014 12:18 AM in response to Yefchakby Emreguner,ok guys,
step by step solution.
1)check out all the apps(if anything stopped or not downloaded completely)
2) now photos(anything missing)
3)and now music, this step is important if you don't purchase all your music from itunes, icloud will try to pair or find the song with itunes store one if you'r using somebody's music. See they'r grey? Dont try to download them because you cannot.swipe and erase them. And now go to the bottom of music section check if anything downloading. download all the music you purchased from itunes by the way.
4) check out ibooks, if you'r done restart your iphone.
thats it.

Dec 31, 2014 9:14 AM in response to Yefchakby t21wolves,All - thanks for the instructions on how to cancel the iCloud Backup Resore, that worked for me. All my apps were there, so I can't tell what was still restoring except maybe pictures (none were there, but I had them all from my old phone).
To ensure I had all my data before cancelling the restore, I reviewed the app sizes in Usage (Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage). This told me that most of my apps were back to about their full sizes and I was good to go! Hope this helps a few.

Jan 2, 2015 10:33 AM in response to Yefchakby ajsmithy56,I had the same issue and the only thing that solved the problem after 3 days of churning was to to do a soft reset of the phone (power button and home button held for several seconds and released to reboot) - is now fixed. Any reason why Apple cannot comment on this feed after 7 pages of postings and suggest a solution as simple as this?

Jan 2, 2015 11:06 AM in response to ajsmithy56by Michael Rogers4,If you have a problem that needs addressing, you can go to radar.apple.com and file a bug report. They generally don't respond to comments here because ... their engineers need precise information about all aspects of the device, and forum discussions (present one excepted, of course! :-) do not tend to produce that. When you go to radar.apple.com they have you fill out a form, attach screenshots, etc. Then they (at least in my experience) have you run diagnostic tools on your device/computer to help track down the issue.

Jan 3, 2015 8:24 PM in response to marnixvaby Jchu149,I just got the iphone6 and was restoring from icloud (an iphone4 backup). I had same problem described above: taking "forever" (almost 3 days on fast wifi) unnecessarily long because backup file was only 8 gigs. I tried turning off FindMyPhone and powering off. This didn't work. I then opened all my apps and logged in on them, i.e., user names and passwords, to get them up and running. Then I closed them all and powered off. This worked. The "restoring from icloud" message is now gone (and it allowed the long pending ios update to install). Thanks for all the tips.

Jan 11, 2015 4:41 AM in response to Yefchakby macjules10,Go to Settings > iCloud and drag down to Backup. If your phone keeps say that it is 'Restoring from iCloud Backup' Then you should see a button that gives you the option to cancel the restore.

Jan 11, 2015 6:10 AM in response to Yefchakby easy iphone recovery,There are some advice for you when your iPhone 6 still shows restoring from iCloud backup.
1. Stop restoring and do it again.
2. Reboot your iPhone 6.
3. Start over again.
4. Use iTunes for backup and restore.

Jan 20, 2015 11:54 AM in response to pureteckby bibanon1,I am experiencing this exact same problem with my iPhone 6 Plus. I could care less about the apps but I am very worried about the face that my photos and videos are not downloading. Every time I look in my Photo Albums, it just says "Downloading..." on the bottom of the screen with a lot of blank videos. I started restoring my phone on Sunday. When I go into Settings---iCloud---Backup---there is not option to stop restoring. I have also tried turning off "Find my iPhone" and turning the phone off and on again.

Jan 21, 2015 1:16 AM in response to Yefchakby udance4ever,Just wanted to put a +1 that backing up using the sync cable to iTunes and then "Restore Backup" worked like a charm.
I was even surprised how quick the whole process was (like a minute to backup & 5 min to restore) - it didn't even have to reboot the phone!
iCloud sure has come a long ways & it blows Android's restore mechanism out of the water.
Apple eliminated some serious bottlenecks in the way we think & do backups - I'm really impressed despite the hiccup.
hope you other guys who have the issue sort your issue out just as quickly!

Jan 22, 2015 6:26 PM in response to Marcos Kirschby ayk1000,I have the same problem , talking to people around, it looks like almost a third of people are still having similar problems. I am very disappointed that there is no official fix for this.

Jan 22, 2015 6:51 PM in response to ayk1000by ayk1000,Went to apple store, they said they get tons of people with that problem. The only solution is NOT TO USE CLOUD, just backup your old phone (if you still have it) to itune and restore from itune.
