Q: Have issues importing edited photos from iPhone 6 plus to iMac, iPhoto only imports the original photo not the edited one.

Once I have edited photos on my iPhone, connect to my Mac. iPhoto open and all my photos appear for importing,  the photos are still in the original format and not how I edited them. iPhoto 9.6 and Yosemite. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong with the iphone settings or settings in iPhoto. Thank

iMac (27-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), Iphoto 9.6

That is how it currently works - you can the edited [photos to a shared hotoreamPS o email them to yrouself

Later this year when the Mac supports iCloud Photo library you will no longer have this problem

iOS 8 edits are represented in a format, that iPhoto and Aperture cannot read. When you download your photos with Image Capture instead of with iPhoto, you may see sidecar files "IMG_20XX.AAE", or similar. These are the edited versions of your photos, describing the filters and other settings. The problems is, that there there are not yet any apps on the Mac, that can read these files.  We'll just have to wait a bit.

See Apple's support document at this link:

iPhoto and Aperture don't have edits to photos you import from iOS 8 devices - Apple Support

Thanks, I got around it by air dropping the edited photo to my iPad then connected the iPad to the Mac and iPhoto imported the photos in the edited format from the iPad. Strange but it worked. It only started doing this after I updated the Mac to Yosemit. Away thanks for your help.
