Q: Since iOS 8.1.2 My Yahoo mail has stopped working, any help please, but don't get too technical

My old ipad2 yahoo mail has stopped working the last update was Monday (as the bottom of inbox says anyway). This has happened since I updated to iOS 8.1.2. Can anyone help me please, not too technical as I'm not a computer programmer lol. Or does anyone know if Apple are doing anything about this problem, as I see it's happening to other device. Many thanks for reading this

    babowa,

please don't start the New Year splitting hairs - and most of all scolding me like a schoolchild. To avoid appearing to passive/aggressively flame me in the future, just address your additional or corrective comments to the OP or poster without mention of me.

Yes I know about the links you provided AND we all know that many Upper Status members have posted plainly that the the feedback link available to we non-developer members is monitored but not likely to get return feedback AND these fine folks have also stated that Apple DOES in fact monitor ( "lurk" ) around the forum threads to observe the quantity and quality of the problems users report to us via the forum.

Not my words, originally. You may well have made these statements yourself, I don't know... It would surprise me immensely if the Apple Engineers relied on the obscure link to Product Feedback from consumers who rarely know how to properly report their problem much less a useful bug report.

The statement I made is a harmless 'short version' of what folks that are more informed than I have stated

BTW, "How/where did you get this information" that they DON'T?

May you live forever and a day. -- REALLY! I wish you no ill will and never have.

    Happy New Year

Same issue here.  I think it started around Dec 21 or so.  Mail isn't pushing on my iPhone 6 or my ipad.

Yahoo is the email server for my Internet provider, Rogers, here in Canada. I'm frustrated by this and Yahoo's lack of response. They've obviously screwed up or disabled pushing emails from their servers. I told my provider to get on their case because I am paying for this service and haven't received it for over 2 weeks now.

Why do I say it's Yahoo's fault? Well, my work emails from a 3rd party Exchange server are pushing fine and my Hotmail emails are pushing fine.

    Hi Mindcore,

I'm not arguing with you, but want to add something. I wasn't getting any emails at all beginning short time after update to IOS 8, 8.1.1, 8.2 etc on my ipad2. Many people with same problem said they just waited and finally and magically the emails started entering their Inboxes.

I won't bore you with the hours I spent trying to get this fixed on Chat and Phone. But, couple days ago my email did return, but only to my MacBook and my old Win 7 laptop. Nothing to my iPad. With IOS 7 on iPad email was okay, occasional glitch.

    Linda

I noticed yesterday it started working again on both my iPhone and my iPad.  I definitely didn't do anything to fix it.

My 2 email addresses began pushing again as of yesterday although one was only working in the morning and the other one started working last night.

Mind you, I filed an incident report with my ISP about a week ago as they use Yahoo as their 3rd party mail service.

Well that's good news. We will likely never know who did the "fixing" though - nor what was wring in the first place. We all look forward to similar reports from the others. - ÇÇÇ

Based on your report of 2 accounts coming back at different times, we can safely deduce that the problem was at Yahoo and required attending to individual accounts piecemeal or in batches. - ÇÇÇ

My yahoo account started pushing last night and now works on all of my devices.  No idea who fixed what, just glad it is working again!

check the thread you authored - Random Folders empty on iPad2 IOS8.1.1 - my post there should move it up to the top of the list as it never got any replies. Reply to me there if you find no joy - as our gracious Hosts are supposed to get involved after no activity for 24 hours. The one reply to yourself may have foiled that policy.
