Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the small white square on your iMac's display may be a pixel anomaly, take a look at the article linked below for more information and possible solutions.

Feb 11, 2015 12:56 PM in response to yogadudeby dpowersatx,I have the same thing. Comes and goes. It is an 8X8 pixel square that has a soft shadow. Cannot be moved or right clicked. Closing safari kills it but it returns.
NSA?

Feb 20, 2015 3:39 PM in response to yogadudeby reececonrad,8 pixel drop shadow square for me too. Caused by safari, exiting safari it goes away. Seem nefarious. Definitely not a pixel anomaly. It's a white square with a drop shadow on it.

Feb 20, 2015 3:41 PM in response to dpowersatxby reececonrad, any other thoughts recently on this? I can get it to go away if I leave Safari but it has come back twice. Also, some people have mentioned screen sharing and I have used Screen Hero to share my screen but that doesn't make sense to me b/c it goes away when I exit safari. Screen Hero is it's own app, not running through Safari in any way that I could imagine.
