Jan 4, 2015 10:22 AM in response to Burke102by pogster,Have you checked with your dealer to see if there are any updates available for your vehicle?

Jan 5, 2015 9:48 AM in response to pogsterby Burke102,Absolutely. I'm current. I actually can understand that a new iOS can cause issues, but the fact that I can't downgrade below iOS 8 is what's really screwing me up here. It's an iPod 5 that all I want to do is keep in my car and now it's useless. I don't need iOS 8. I need an OS, ANY OS, that'll work with my car, and as everyone here knows, that's iOS 7. What's the reason Apple locks us out of older operating systems?

Jan 5, 2015 10:16 AM in response to Burke102by pogster,An older OS running with newer apps and newer data for one reason. What vehicle do you have? I have a 2012 Ram with UConnect and haven't had any issues with iOS 8 so I'm not so sure the OS is entirely at fault or everyone would be having a problem including myself. What have you done to try and troubleshoot the problem yourself?

Jan 5, 2015 10:19 AM in response to pogsterby Burke102,I have a 2014 Dart Limited with the RB5 UConnect radio. You're right in that it's not 100% across the board, which makes these problems so much harder to figure out.
You said newer apps...I only have the apps that come with the iPod, so it's all Apple's stuff. However, someone on here mentioned the Podcasts app causing problems so I'm going to try and remove that. I also have an iPhone 6+ that I've plugged into the USB since this morning with only 15 songs and it hasn't been able to sync that, but then again, I have Podcasts on the phone too. I'll do some testing.

Jan 5, 2015 10:47 AM in response to Burke102by pogster,Mine is the 430N/RHB. About all I can suggest for you are the basic software troubleshooting steps which is restart, reset, restore from backup, and restore as new and do tests after each step. The odd part is Fiat, which now owns Chrysler as you are probably aware, issued a firmware update last fall for the Fiats which was reported by users here fixed the issue on their cars. Why Fiat wouldn't/couldn't do it for the rest of the lineup is anyone's guess.

Jan 5, 2015 10:50 AM in response to pogsterby Burke102,I hear ya. Unfortunately with all of these great technological advances since the iPhone, we're back to major compatibility issues because there are so many platforms. Remember in the 90s trying to work on a file on both a Mac and a PC? We're back to that nightmare.

Jan 6, 2015 12:00 PM in response to LastKnight55by kspaiva88,Hey Everyone
I think I might have found a fix to those that are having the issue of the system "building" their music list when using the USB input. I was having a similar issue where I would wait for over 30 minutes and it would never sync it would just keep reading that it was building the list. My Browse and Shuffle buttons were grayed out and it would only play the first song on my Iphone. I thought about what I had downloaded in the past few days (because I've only been experiencing this issue for a few days) and the only thing I could come up with is I downloaded a podcast recently to listen to while I was on vacation. I went into the podcast app that apple forces you to have (it's the purple app with an i on it with little radio waves coming off of it) and I deleted the podcast completely (including the podcast summary). I went back to my 2013 300 and plugged in my Iphone and it re synced in three minutes. Now I can Shuffle and use the Browse feature like before.
Hope this helps a few people.

Jan 7, 2015 9:55 AM in response to kspaiva88by Burke102,This worked! Everyone should at least give it a try. A little more detail...I did this only with my 6 Plus that I had less than ten songs on. BUT, even with just ten songs, it never fully indexed. So I plugged the phone into the computer, deselected "Sync Podcasts". I also went into the phone and manually deleted any remaining podcasts and also unchecked "sync podcasts" which oddly enough was still checked. After that, the phone fully indexed within minutes. I'm going to try the same thing this afternoon with my iPod Touch and 2,300 songs.

Jan 7, 2015 10:38 PM in response to Burke102by Meichtrd,do any of you guys have a problem receiving an alert for new text messages when your phone is connected to uConnect. i never hear an alert or notification that I received a text message. This is frustrating because I never know when I get anything new. I'd be really appreciative of someone has any answers for me since it infuriates me that I don't hear an alert.

Jan 8, 2015 9:39 AM in response to Burke102by Burke102,I had success on the iPod by removing the podcasts and the syncing option within itunes. Over 2000 songs and it's working perfectly. Still takes about 10+ minutes to re-index whenever I add a new song to the iPod, but that's the way it always worked. If anyone is having this issue, try the podcast method. I was skeptical since I don't usually have luck with typical solutions offered, but this worked.

Jan 9, 2015 5:05 PM in response to hrchildby immy10,I have a 2005 Pacifica with Uconnect. I upgraded my new iPhone6 to 8.1.2 and lost Uconnect. It was silent so I couldn't go in to delete pairing etc. So I was able to go back one IOS to 8.1.1. I deleted the pairing on the iPhone6.
I then disconnected my battery in the car for 5 min (Uconnect manual instructions for Pacifica ) and then was able to reconnect. It held for a month. I am pretty sure from this exercise and by the amount of traffic about connectivity that it's the IOS. I am going to disconnect the battery in the car again and see what happens. What a pain. I mean its still worked fine before iphone6. I will also try to pair a Samsung phone. But you might try the car battery trick. It might hold long enough for Apple to get its act together.

Jan 22, 2015 6:58 AM in response to LastKnight55by someb00dy,I have the same issue with my iPhone 5S (iOS 8.1.2) and 2011 Charger. I plug it in and the first song (alphabetically) starts playing. The display shows "1 of 4002" and the "tracks" button just shows every track on my iPhone in alphabetical order. The "browse" and "shuffle" buttons are grayed out and unavailable.
I'd downgrade my phone to iOS 7 to fix this but Apple doesn't allow that anymore.
I tried deleting all Podcasts, as well as removing the option to Sync from both iPhone settings and iTunes, and that didn't fix anything. I also tried changing the Gracenotes option in UConnect settings and that also didn't help. So I'm going to follow this topic and hope that eventually somebody will have good news on how to fix this.

Jan 22, 2015 11:06 AM in response to someb00dyby ganjin,I've upgraded my Uconnect to the latest version (14.47.1) via their website and this seems to have resolved my issues with my iPhone on iOS 8. I can now listen to audiobooks/youtube while the phone is plugged in. I still can't use the bluetooth connection while it's plugged in for some reason, but that's a minor issue.

Jan 27, 2015 4:12 PM in response to pogsterby MrJonez1,Chrysler/Fiat says it's an Apple issue, they broke it, they need to fix it. Just a flat out disappointment. 8.1.3 didn't fix it either, and I have no hope that 8.2 will at this point either.

Jan 27, 2015 4:19 PM in response to MrJonez1by ganjin,UConnect is a piece of crap. Maybe it's Apple's changes that broke it, but it's Chrysler that needs to get it together and fix it on their end. Try upgrading your UConnect like I did and it will likely fix at least some of the issues.
