Q: Slow Mac

Hi All,

I wondered if you could help -

Pretty much from the beginning the Mac has been completely functional, but in my in my experience, slower than others.

It's getting a bit older now and certain functions which (I think) should be painless are very slow - using Adobe Lightroom. For example, to simply edit photos can be a pain. Trying to have Iphoto and Lighrtoom open at once to edit and transfer is a huge pain. Let's not even get started on uploading and editing photos at the same time. Surely if I only have two/ three apps open at a time, it should be smooth, or at least possible without a beach ball at every other click? - at least that's what i've experienced with other peoples' Macs!

All applications run in a jerky, slow, irritating maner - like I said, functional, but aside from the smoother user interface, i've not really had less pain with the Mac as compared to PC. It's the similar virus-y issues I remember years ago...

At the beginning, I made a fuss and returned it to the store for testing - everything came out as fine. At the time I reinstalled the OS - no change.

Any thoughts on how I can solve/ improve this would be much appreciated.

Adam
