Q: i had air drop and some how lost it on my mac

I have a 2010 27 inch mac with the latest updates and had air drop on finder and some how lost it off finder. How do I get it back have searched my hard drive for air drop no luck

iMac (27-inch Late 2009), iOS 8.1.2

Choose Preferences from the Finder menu and check the settings in the Sidebar tab; the AirDrop option will only appear if it's compatible with your Mac.
