Since you don't have a usable backup when version of OS X did your Mac have originally?

Please provide the full details, such as make, model and version number of the router.

Jan 10, 2015 3:12 PM in response to Allan Eckertby bridie88,When i hit setup from the dvd it tells me that I have an unsupported operating system and I need to be using Mac OS 10.5. blah or 10.5 . blah blah or later. I went to the linksys site and it say it will not support maverick. I can download something for it to support moutain lion. My router is a linksys N300 E1200 model.

Jan 10, 2015 4:23 PM in response to bridie88by tbirdvet,My Linksys EA3500 works with no issues on Mavericks and Yosemite. Perhaps it is time to get a new router. Check Amazon or Ebay for some great deals.

Jan 10, 2015 5:55 PM in response to bridie88by Lanny,You can't uninstall an OS X version. You would have to erase the drive and reinstall a prior OS version. That's why you should never upgrade without having a backup.
However, just about any router in the world should work with Mavericks, without the need of any DVD supplied software.
