Jan 11, 2015 9:14 AM in response to Tricky Dicky 465by noremacniai,Of course Apple do read these forums but don't engage. How can they?
To respond with "this is not a problem" or "this is affecting a very small number of devices" would be an OUTRIGHT LIE and open them up to manner of problems.
To respond with "we are aware of this problem and working on rectifying this" would be an admission they'd f*€¥ed up! - which Apple NEVER EVER do!
A hangover from the SJ era.

Jan 11, 2015 10:57 AM in response to momolorientby THOR64,I can no longer use Safari on my iPad due to crashes and freeze-ups and have had to switch to Chrome. I have kept OS updated and tried several off the tips to no avail. Score one for Google, I guess... If they ain't gonna fix it, they should at least allow you to delete it!

Jan 11, 2015 4:49 PM in response to momolorientby SmileLyn,I Am sad to see that this has been going on so long with no FIX. I have been having the same problem and hoped to find a fix on this forum but all I see is a lot of upset people that are getting nowhere with Apple. So crappy. I have been a faithful Apple customer for a long time and can't believe that they haven't FIXED this yet. i guess I'll turn off my icloud, reset, delete my apps, refresh, and hope something helps. Thanks Apple

Jan 11, 2015 5:14 PM in response to Tricky Dicky 465by AudioVideoEditor,Not many years computers came with install disks for the operating system. If you upgraded the operating system and had problems you could always go back by wiping the system clean and reinstalling from the disks that came with the computer.
Apple has taken this control away from us.
By the way there are even worse problems with the iPhone. For example, on certain makes and years of cars it is no longer posible to place calls hands frre with SIRI. With iOS 7 it worked fine.

Jan 11, 2015 6:17 PM in response to momolorientby Gmiles0407,I just went and spent $99 on a Trio android tablet. Guess what? I can now watch a YouTube video, search something on the web. It is great! My useless ipad2 is now being used for reading books. Thanks apple!

Jan 23, 2015 1:35 AM in response to Geoff37by noremacniai,For what it's worth here's my opinion -
I think we're all pretty well agreed that Safari under iOS 7.x ran fast and Safari under iOS 8.x runs slow?
I was never convinced of the notion that this was all a ploy by Apple to force hardware upgrades on users - so what is it all about?
Like Geoff37 I believe it's a race between manufactures to be leader of the pack and is all down to poor and sloppy coding in the scramble to be top dog.
The reason iPad Air 2s and iPhone 6s show no appreciable degradation in speed is due to the fact they have enough horsepower with the A8 chip to process the poor and sloppy coding that much faster than lesser models.
So, Apple, just write some decent code - We know you can do it because you did in iOS 7.x

Jan 23, 2015 2:39 AM in response to noremacniaiby Geoff37 ,Agreed. The big boys in the industry need to all calm down and restore some sensible balance between quality control and marketing deadlines.i have become increasingly wary of buying the latest gizmo after being repeatedly burnt, and i am not just talking about Apple. We seem to be in an over development stage with phones and tablets with more and more stupid features that damage the original basic functionallity.
Let us hope there will now be time for fixes and consolidation before the next super device hits the stores.
Whoa..... A squadron of pigs has just flown over!

Jan 23, 2015 10:55 AM in response to momolorientby jgc123,TThis has went on for several months now. It is obvious they have no intentions of fixing our problems. I will go back to using my laptop for web browsing. Next month I will be eligible for an upgrade for my iPhone 5. Trust me there will not be an iPhone 6 for me. You people do as you think best.

Jan 28, 2015 7:20 AM in response to jgc123by noremacniai,iOS 8.1.3 and still no improvement!
Given this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31012410 - it's hardly surprising they couldn't give a F∩©ΣΪ∏G $#!T about fixing it!

Feb 1, 2015 1:19 PM in response to momolorientby markm49,The only thing that has worked for me on my iPad Mini is to disable Javascript (Settings,Safari,Advanced) - this restored my iPad to pre ios 8 levels of performance. Definite issue with the javascript engine in webkit. Unfortunately this issue is not resloved even in 8.3 betas.

Feb 1, 2015 3:59 PM in response to markm49by D_M_G,I wil have to give that a try, this j/b thing is not working out so well. I thought I'd try it out since it's a older model and probably going to get a new soon.
Thanks
