Q: HELP! DVD Drive not showing on finder or desktop
Hi, I am not a Mc OS expert. I have a Mac Pro 1,1 with MAC OSX 10.7.5, and my original DVD drive died. I happened to have an HP Lightscribe DVD640, and I installed it, but, its icon does not show up!
It is recognized by the system and Disk Utility, and if I insert a CD or DVD it reads it correctly, but when I remove it, there's no icon of the actual drive anywhere, so, I won't be able to open the drive to insert a new disc...
I set the Finder preferences to show CDs and DVDs, but nothing shows...
Any suggestion?

There is a key on the keyboard - upper right. Looks like a triangle with a line under it. Press it. The optical drive tray will open (or close.) Did you not read the user's manual?
