What kind of issues are you having with Speak Selection?
Is it when the spoken stuff is in the same language than your OS?
general > accessibility > vision | speech -> select language or dialect if itʻs always with the same language
If itʻs happening when the text is in other languages: there is a way to set different languages somewhere around the same area of accessibility features, so that when the text is in language X, itʻll recognize it and read it correctly.
I forgot how I set it up, but when my iPhone reads a text and recognizes that itʻs e.g. in Italian (or if I get a choice to indicate what language it is), itʻll sound correct.
Too bad there is no option to just have many languages to switch between while using VoiceOver.
(E.g. if VoiceOver runs in Italian, any text spoken in English sounds terrible, and vice versa)
