You will need to troubleshoot to find what is wrong so you know what to fix: How to Troubleshoot iSight.
Be sure to check cable and connections, more than one user account, and more that one Apple App, for instance you can also try movie recording in QuickTime Player (version 10.x). If nothing else is the problem, your old iSight has likely failed. If you don't want to spend the time and money trying to have it serviced, a new compatible USB webcam may be a quicker solution.
