Q: My sound has recently stopped working.  Help, Please?

I recently updated to Yosemite.  My computer now has no sound.  I've double checked the settings, nothing is muted.  I am not hooked up to an external speaker of any kind.

 

about my Mac:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011)

2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
