Q: External hard drive and video editing

Does an external hard drive allow me to download large mp4 video files directly to it so I may edit them?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Hi kellyfromfreeport,

This can be done by locating your iMovie Library on the external hard drive. Your iMovie Library is where all iMovie data (imported clips and video, as well as projects) are stored.

Move your iMovie for Mac (2014) library
