Q: iTunes Cache taking up too much space

The iTunes Cache is taking up too much space on my Macair. I have deleted it once in the past, but it has crept up again as I do a lot of streaming. When I look at my disk space use, it shows that it is there:

but when I try to find it in finder I get this message:

Untitled 3.jpg

and when I try to find it manually, I can't find it either. Could anyone tell me whether there is some other place it is stored on the Macair? I only have 17 GB left, and my mac has slowed down, so I really need to clear space.

thanks for any help on this

    Hi anacafr,

Thanks for your question.  The reason that you aren't seeing the CloudPurchasesPlayCache folder is because it is in your user account (represented by a tilde (~).

To access it in the Finder application, hold the Option key and click the Go command on the menu bar.  With the Option key held down, your user library is now visible in the drop-down list.  The actual path is ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes/CloudPurchasesPlayCache/

    Using keyboard shortcuts

A modifier key is a part of many keyboard shortcuts. A modifier key alters the way other keystrokes or mouse/trackpad clicks are interpreted by OS X. Modifier keys include: Command, Shift, Option, Control, Caps Lock, and the fn key. These keys are represented by special symbols when you see them in menus and other parts of OS X:

    Command key
    Control key
    Option key
    Shift Key
    Caps Lock
    fnFunction Key

I hope this information helps ....

When the OS requires space, it automatically deletes cache files.

Thank you very much, but I had tried that, and it is not there.  When I do an analysis of my hard disk using DiskSpacePro (as in the image I pasted into my post) it says that there is a folder of that name, of 13.72GB, but it can't then find it either, which is very strange.  When I do the same using Disk Utilities, I the total space used and space left is the same as in DiskSpacePro, so it's not making a mistake.

Thanks for your reply, but why is it that I am still being told that there is a an iTunes cache of 13.72GB on my hard disk? And if that is the case, why is my disk space is now so abysmally small? I have deleted all music, and all photos in order to try to make space, and I don't do anything else that would take up so much space.
