As an iTunes Match subscriber, I know Apple notifies me by email a month before the renewal date to basically say "Your renewal is coming. Either do nothing and get renewed in a month, or turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours in advance of the renewal date."

You can also turn iTunes Match off on those devices you select. You do not need to have it turned on on each of your devices.
