Jan 15, 2015 10:37 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby Frederick0245,Hi Tom thanks for your reply unfortunately I have already downloaded this file from Apple but still no joy to get XAVC into FCPX. There is a Software convertor available from Sony called "Catalyst Converter" but I noticed on one post somewhere that it was circa $200 and as I have just forked out nearly $3000 for this setup I am reluctant to pursue this workaround, the camera will record in AVCHD so it doesn't make sense for Sony not to provide a proper means to impot their XAVC Codec into the NLE's . Had I have realised this when I made the purchase then I may have opted for maybe another Canon or alternative. It's a pity really because it is a very nice well build piece of kit. I will just have to sit back and wait for Apple & Sony to come together with a solution.
Regards
Fred

Aug 13, 2015 2:47 PM in response to Frederick0245by johnterendy,I have yet to find a way to directly import Sony PXW-X70 clips directly into FCP-X. I have, however, started using Sony's free Catalyst Browse which allows me to make ProRes 422 conversions which import directly into FCP-X. Here is a link to the free software:

Aug 14, 2015 12:53 PM in response to johnterendyby JelloSlapper,Hey
You ABSOLUTELY need to have the most updated version of Final Cut Pro in order for this to work
I use a PXW-X70, love it - however I in order to import the clips I had to update my Final Cut Pro
Also, install this update
