OS X automatically configures email accounts fairly well. If the above does not help it might be easier to delete the Mail account and add it again. To do that read Mac Basics: Use Mail on your Mac. IMAP messages that have not been deleted will remain on the server.
Shame on them for only providing instructions for an operating system that hasn't been supported in years. I'd call them and complain.

Jan 15, 2015 10:41 AM in response to bbjdaveby Kurt Lang,I looked over the Office 2011 Outlook settings, but the entries will be the same no matter what email software you're using.
The server name for both incoming and outgoing is:
secure.emailsrvr.com
The two more important settings are that "Use SSL to connect" must be on, and the default port must be changed to 465.
