Q: iPad 2 frozen lock screen

My ipad 2 is frozen on the lock screen and, try as I might, I cannot solve the problem! I have tried the reset procedure, erase procedure and the restore using iTunes procedure. When attempting to restore through iTunes, it cannot complete restore as the ipad has a passcode, which it asks to be entered. Obviously I cannot do this as it is frozen and unresponsive! The ipad is out of warranty and so I am hoping to fix this problem myself, as I have been quoted some rather unsavoury prices to fix it! Some companies have even said the problem cannot be fixed - I hope this is untrue.

Can anyone help?!

Try to put your iPad into Recovery mode

Tips: Always remember to make a backup first.

    1. Disconnect all cables from your device.
    2. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
    3. Press and hold the Home button and plug the device into your computer. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen
    5. If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
    6. Click OK. Then restore the device.

Try to put your iPad into recovery mode and restore it:

After then, connect your iPad with your computer and launch iTunes to restore it
