Q: iPhone 6 video recording without sound.

Hi, I have an iPhone 6 and I'm using the iPhone for more than 1 week, everything was fine until I decide to make a video, the video recording was fine but without THE AUDIO, so I tried to record a voice memo and everything well, all the calls well, dictation to siri well, but video without sound even if I made the video with snapchat still without SOUND !!!! i don't know if is a software problem or what, I have the Macbook Air, almost all the iphones, ipad and ipod and is the first time I'm dealing with a problem like this. I hope you can solve this...

Hi, I was stupid enough to leave my Bluetooth connection to the stereo activated. That - of course - kills the internal loudspeaker...

I'm having the same problem...  There is no plastic cover over my speaker.  And I'm not bluetooth connected to anything...  Has anyone found a solution to this yet?  Do I need to take the phone back?  (Annoying.)

FYI. If anyone has encountered the problem with your iPhone not producing audio when making a video, be aware that the back mic is between the camera lens and the flash. Make sure it is not covered by your case. Or, as in my case, the decorative skin on the back of your phone.

Yeah I did check to make sure that mic was free and clear of any plastic, casing, or dust.  Still no luck.  Took my phone to a Verizon store and they hadn't seen this issue either... so they are just going to send me a new one.

I can hear a fuzzy noise when recording from the front camera. Even on snapchat the sound will not appear when recording on the front camera. I have taken off my case and this is still not helping. I recorded myself with the front camera and blew an air horn and through the fuzzy sound I ever so slightly heard the loud horn. The back camera sound works fine, but how comes the front sound is being blocked? Is there not one microphone area? Please somebody solve this issue. I have an iPhone 6

I have a 128 Mb iPhone 6 Plus, purchased on December 30th.  I have just discovered that the microphone for the main (back) camera seems to have died on mine as well....I get plenty of sound with the selfie camera, or doing a sound recording, but for the other camera just a little white noise.  The microphone is not covered and there doesn't seem to be anything in that little hole (but a tiny grille).

In going back through what I've recorded it appears to have died some time between the afternoon of January 14th and January 15th (while my wife and I were on vacation in Hawaii).  Fortunately what videos have been taken since then are not critical (though I'm not happy about losing the sound of some kids counting down for model rocket launches this past Saturday).

I guess it's off to the Apple store for a replacement....but I'm not really going to have time to mess with this until next week.  GRRRRRRRRRR.  Not nice to have this on a $949 device.

I ran into the same thing: I recorded a video and it seemed like it had no sound. It turned out that the connection to my bluetooth headset was still active, so when I played the video, I didn't hear anything. The sound was recorded just fine, but it was playing through my bluetooth headset, which on my desk, rather than the internal speaker. So whenever you're not hearing sound when playing a video, make sure that you're not inadvertently sending the sound to a connected bluetooth device, such as a headset.
