Q: CD player no longer working?

Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro, 2011. My CD player refuses to accept a CD, and if I push it in, it refuses to play. Any suggestions? There was no damaging incident. It quit working one day. And nothing happened. The last CD's I used were Pimsleur CD's for language learning. Do CD's die? Can they be reactivated, or repaired? They also do not eject, or pull in the CD. Lifeless.

(MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011), 2 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3)

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the cd drive or the cd itself is not working. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
