Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If you have FaceTime 1.0.2 on OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), you can update to version 1.0.5 to resolve this issue:
OS X: FaceTime calls no longer connect when using Snow Leopard - Apple Support
Install the latest FaceTime update available from the Updates pane of the Mac App Store to resolve this issue.
Cheers,
Jeremy

Feb 15, 2015 7:12 PM in response to jeremy_vby A H1,I have OS 10.6.8, and have Facetime 1.0 installed. Since I recently did a clean install of the OS, it must have come with the OS installer disk. I tried to update to the latest version, but it doesn't show on the Update within Apps Store, and it won't show up in the Software Updater either.
when I try to Purchase from Apps Store, it says, "You have FaceTime not purchased from App Store. use software update to update your FaceTime"
but I can't find anywhere to update it.
do I have to PAY for a new Facetime from App Store to get the update for a software that obviously I already have license to use?
