Q: iphone 6: siri and voice text not working.

I did siri trouble shooting, and restored phone completely. Siri hasn't worked at all since turning the phone on (Sept.19th). Mic works - can make calls, voice messages etc. Is there something that I'm not doing? or do I have to get a new phone?

iPhone 6, iOS 8

I have a problem too with Siri.  Often when I press and hold the home button, I get the screen with the microphone at bottom and the can I help you text but no sound and no response from my audio.  If I reboot or reset the network connections it will work correctly once or twice.  I also noticed that when it was not working, if I turned off my bluetooth, it began working again.  When I turned my bluetooth on, it stopped working.  Something here.  When I turned on the bluetooth, even after I reconnected with my Panasonic cell to tel phone, it appeared that it was still looking for other bluetooth devices.  Maybe in discovering mode too long?

    i managed to fix this.

I Took it to my local Apple Store and they were confused with the issue too, both guys who looked at it just scrarched their heads and decided to try a full format. They put the phone in DFU mode , hooked it up to a Mac book in store and reinstalled 8.1.1 , guess what I now have Siri as and when I require without rebooting.

    Dear lovemytaho,

By any chance are you using bluetooth on your iphone 6?  In my case, there appears to be a bug for the 6 and bluetooth usage.

I've tried everything but I can't get it to work again. I'm on 8.1.2 with iphone 6. one thing I've noticed is I don't have the option raise to speak in Siri but I think I had it before

try going into settings. Then accessibility the scroll down to hear and turn off noise cancellation setting . When off button should have no green background. Worked for me. Hope it helps you

The Siri page would come up as requested, but it would not take in any of my audio request. It was just frozen, or it would give its standard Siri tone each time the microphone button was pressed. Had been going on for a week or two before it got really annoying. Tested microphone in voice memo and by calling myself, works fine. Audio works fine, plays iPod.

I have to say our internet was down, and our cable tv has been acting funny for weeks. Reset network settings worked for me, as Siri is back. Thanks!

I had a similar issue - Siri came up but seemed to not hear anything when I spoke and eventually just showed me the list of what Siri can do. I tried all of the above suggestions but none fixed my issue so I took it to the apple store. They told me that Siri uses the rear mic, which was defective in my iPhone 6 (this is why I hadn't had any problems with regular phone calls etc). They gave me a new phone and Siri has worked perfectly since.
