Jan 24, 2015 9:43 AM in response to VJ4APPLEby Meg St._Clair,Your phone was never properly unlocked by the carrier. It was hacked to unlock it. When you restored it, the hack was removed. You will need to contact the carrier to which it is locked and see if you qualify for unlocking.

Jan 24, 2015 10:07 AM in response to VJ4APPLEby Meg St._Clair,Unless you bought an unlocked phone from an Apple store in the U.S. or had the U.S. carrier to which the phone was locked officially unlock it for you, the phone was hacked to unlock it. Hacking can have very unpredictable results.
