Q: why does itunes keep shutting down?

iTunes works great on my (windows) laptop, but as soon as i connect my iPhone it immediately shuts down.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling it but nothing has worked..

Help!

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.2
