Q: iMovie Updates

I'm having trouble moving from iMovie 7.1.4 (on my old Mac) to 10.0.6. (on my new one).

Events move ok but projects don't. All the how-to's talk about dragging them to the hard drive icon but it's not the the projects library, only the events. Others say to choose 'Copy projects and events' when transferring them, but this option doesn't appear. Simply copying the folders doesn't work any more either.

Is there a way to do it? I don't want to lose my project data…
