Q: System keeps waking from sleep every 2 hours

Since Yosemite update, system keeps waking from sleep approx. every 2 hours. It goes back to sleep on its own but keeps waking up again. I have "wake for network access" in System Preferences turned off. Here are samples of the console messages:

10/19/14 1:02:43.000 AM kernel[0]: Wake reason: RTC (Alarm)

10/19/14 1:02:43.000 AM kernel[0]: RTC: Maintenance 2014/10/19 08:02:43, sleep 2014/10/19 06:14:45

10/19/14 3:00:41.000 AM kernel[0]: Wake reason: RTC (Alarm)

10/19/14 3:00:41.000 AM kernel[0]: RTC: Maintenance 2014/10/19 10:00:41, sleep 2014/10/19 08:12:51

I have no idea what "Wake reason: RTC (Alarm)" means. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like, from the comments above, that the issue is not fixed.

2014 Mac Pro, Yosemite 10.10.1... RTC (Alarm) problem here too.

Sorry to hear that Apple thinks it's fixed in 10.10.2, yet people continue to have the issue.

Could you check your console and see if you are getting a large number of "discoveryd" errors in addition to at the RTC (Alarm) wakings?

From last night. Here is my wake event (happening every night @ 2:00AM and then every 2 mins. thereafter) (running 10.10.2 (14C81h) Public Beta):

    Screen Shot 2015-01-14 at 10.36.15 PM copy.jpg

22 seconds later I got about 10 more in a row like this (looks like it's looking for my IP but the WiFi card had not connected to the hub I guess):

discoveryd[49]: Basic DNSResolver UDNS Send(): UDP Sendto() failed to DNSNameServer 192.168.1.254 Port 53 errno 49, fd 60, ErrLogCount 1 ResolverIntf:7

I shut it down soon after and went back to bed. I will keep it on a bit longer tonight and check the log in the AM.

    my discoveryd console entries:

1/15/15 6:38:13.324 PM discoveryd[53]: Basic Warn DD_Warn: Corrupt NSEC RDATA size

    1/15/15 6:38:13.326 PM discoveryd[53]: Basic Bonjour Failed to delete registration recordId=47 error=4

    1/15/15 6:38:17.371 PM discoveryd[53]: Basic DNSResolver UDNSServer::ProcessEvent unknown event type: 7!

And 8 or more of these:

1/15/15 6:38:07.002 PM discoveryd[53]: Basic DNSResolver UDNS Send(): UDP Sendto() failed to DNSNameServer 10.0.1.1 Port 51384 errno 50, fd 47, ErrLogCount 1 ResolverIntf:0

OK. I installed the latest seed of the public beta (14C94b) yesterday and I slept soundly through the night because my MacPro did NOT wake @ 2:00 AM as it has been doing for a week now. Hopefully this fix will stick unlike the last one that worked for only a few days before reoccurring... fingers crossed

I'm running the same beta 10.10.2 (14C94b) and no change.

Still waking every hour and a half.

    This is annoying.

I have updated Yosemite and, for me, the problem has gone.

    I'm running Yosemite 10.10.2 on a mid2011 iMac.
