Q: My iPad won't connect to home sharing on iTunes

I Upgraded the iPad air I got with the new operating system and now it wont connect to my iTunes library. It recognizes it but keeps saying "unable to connect to home sharing". I have loved out and logged back in both the iPad and my computer several times.  I remember when Apple products were seamless.

iPad Air, iOS 8.1.3

    Howdy Jashun8,

It sounds like you are not able to access your iTunes Library via Home Sharing since updating your iPad Air. I would use troubleshooting steps 6 and 7 from the following article since from what you describe the correct Apple ID seems to be signed in correctly on your devices:

    Troubleshooting Home Sharing

    6. Quit and reopen apps and iTunes

If connectivity issues persist, quit and reopen iTunes on your computer. Then, quit and reopen the apps on your iOS device.

Note that Home Sharing cannot transfer or stream audiobook content purchased from Audible.com. See Audible.com for information on using their content with multiple devices.

    7. Restart your network router

Restart your home network router using the method recommended in documentation from the manufacturer. This may include disconnecting the power cord for thirty seconds or more.

Note: During this period, Internet services such as a VoIP-based phone will not work, and any additional routers may need to be reset in sequence.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,

    Sterling
