Jan 31, 2015 5:56 AM in response to AG007by Analog83,Still an utter disaster for me. So disappointing but expected at this point.
Sync 1: went through smoothly yet not a single change was applied.
Sync 2: stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied." I've been here before. I knew it was a busted sync so I ended it early. Now 75% of my album artwork is gone.
Hooray for Spotify!

Jan 31, 2015 9:24 AM in response to Analog83by Analog83,Update: I manually deleted all songs from my device via Manage Usage. Restarted my computer to hopefully get 12.1 to fully update. Synced my phone and it's actually working. Not sure if I have the patience to make a minor change and sync to see if that works as well once this sync is done.

Jan 31, 2015 3:02 PM in response to Brett Lby traddcliff,NONE OF THIS WORKS
i installed 8.1.3 things were fine for a couple days. i tried to add a couple new tracks i made to my phone so i could test them in my car.
now...ALL MY MUSIC AND PLAYLISTS ARE GONE. iTunes still insists they exist. i see them in iTunes. but my phone is blank. it just keeps updating purchased tracks that i don't want on my phone. these actually show on the phone but NOT in iTunes.WHAT IS GOING ON?
i have my phone set so i update music MANUALLY. i do not like the auto syncing.
PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO FIX
edit: adding specs iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.3, iTunes 12.1.0.50, Yosemite 10.10.2

Jan 31, 2015 4:39 PM in response to Coveholliby JohnONolan,This solved it for me: https://helgeklein.com/blog/2012/02/solved-other-eating-up-gigabytes-of-ipad-sto rage/
Ton of corrupt files in Media => iTunes_Control => Music - deleted 27GB of randomly named folders and after that my sync worked normally again. Hope this helps someone.

Jan 31, 2015 5:55 PM in response to traddcliffby mlb32704,Start reading through the last few weeks of posts on this subject...some of us, myself included, were able to resolve some if not all problems by looking really carefully at our iTunes libraries for any errors whatsoever, fixing those errors, restoring any and all devices to factory defaults, setting them as new devices and syncing to cleaned up iTunes libraries. Do not restore from backups. Good luck!

Jan 31, 2015 6:28 PM in response to JohnONolanby traddcliff,so there is no iTunes_Control folder.... :\ dunno where you're seeing that.
purchase folder is empty and my other memory allocation is not very high. I'm telling you my setup is CLEAN.
none of that stuff worked.what DID work for me [or seems to be at the moment] was making sure ALL music is GONE. then i set up my playlists in iTunes and have them labeled and ordered appropriately for easy rebuild. then rather than make my playlists in iTunes, I'm making them on the phone. then syncing so the new playlists show up in my phones drop down in iTunes. then i drag the tunes over from my iTunes playlist to the new playlists i created on my phone.
so far the playlists havent deleted them selves. tested by creating one playlist, adding files, removing the phone. reattaching the phone creating a new playlist and adding files to that. both lists remained intact. so far i have added five with no loss.
this is a SH**TTY and I'm super unhappy i spent 6 hours trying to sort this out only to find a HACKY workaround. pretty junky update.
there is also a bug with this forum. every time it saves progress of my post, it jumps my cursor to a random point in my post...and as I'm not a good typist i look up to find I've started typing in the wrong place and have to decipher what I've messed
these new updates are pretty bad.

Jan 31, 2015 6:40 PM in response to traddcliffby traddcliff,so it looks at though the problem is that it does not like when i drag tunes from either my desktop or my hard drive directly to a playlist.
this will be a problem for me as i work on music and one of my test stages is to listen in my car as one of my sound test arenas, and I'm not about to burn a CD for each track[s] iteration as i work on them. thats FAR to wasteful.
this used to work flawlessly.
whats going on?
I'm working on a mac, not a pc, with a mac compatible drive. one would assume mac products would work in unison.

Jan 31, 2015 6:49 PM in response to traddcliffby mlb32704,6 whole hours? Wow. Well, most of the regulars here, myself included, have been working through these issues for THREE MONTHS, give or take. Apple has been useless, it's the people and posts here that helped me and others work through them. There's a lot of great people and info here, read the posts, and be patient. It's gonna take more than 6 hours for you to resolve whatever you're going through. Sorry dude. Good luck!

Jan 31, 2015 6:55 PM in response to Coveholliby mlb32704,PS everyone got me nervous with the new iTunes update. Works fine, syncs fine, all is still well, and the music continues to play. All of it. Weeks of solid syncing with a clean iTunes library and all "new" devices. Whew.

Jan 31, 2015 6:55 PM in response to Coveholliby MegaBigRoad,Are you sure both iTunes and your device are logged into the same Apple id and you actually purchased the music.
