Q: How do I import iMovie '11 events into iMovie v10.0?
I have been using iMovie '11 for years and just opened the latest version of iMovie (v10.0.6). I launched it a couple years ago and when I realized the software was copying all of my old files from an external hard drive to the internal drive, I cancelled it and quit the app. I hadn't opened it since, until today.
I want to use the old iMovie events and projects, but I don't want the new iMovie to move any files. At least this time it didn't start to do so automatically. Now I can't find any way to import the old projects and events. What am I missing?

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong, or at least I figured how how iMovie 10 wanted me to have things arranged before it would import the old events and projects. I started a new discussion so people can easier find the solution if they are looking for it (the search function here isn't that great):
