Q: DRM in songs some that say Purchased AAC audio file

I tried to delete the songs that were M4P and re-download them because I read that you could remove the DRM in old iTunes songs.

When I re-downloaded them it says that they are "Purchased AAC audio files" in iTunes similar to all the new songs that are MPA.

However they are still M4Ps and not M4As when I check them in finder.

When I right click on them and get get info they read that they are "Protected AAC audio files" this baffles me.

I tried re naming them to M4P but my phone rejected them still saying that they were protected with DRM.

I then entered iTunes and tied to convert them to AAC but it popped up this note (attached below) that Protected files cant be converted but you can clearly see under the type bar it is purchased and not protected.

This works on Purchased files that were purchased more recently and downloaded as M4A though no hitch.
