Feb 5, 2015 12:06 PM in response to hjbatby Carolyn Samit,See if you can access internet recovery. Not on battery alone.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk and restore OS X.
** Install updates while the computer is connected to a power source instead of battery.

Feb 5, 2015 12:31 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby my ginger,Hi hjbat. Can you get a startup chime? You could try SMC reset and pram reset.https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3604 If you get it up and running try what Carolyn Samit said. If you still have problems related to this. And the apple store wrote up a repair ticket on it ,They might still look at it as you did this while still under warranty. I'm not apple so I can't say for certain, but you don't know if you don't ask.
