I see that you are getting an error when attempting to install an update to iTunes on your Windows PC. I have an article for you that references your specific error code, and it can be found below:
If you can't install or update iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-mz/HT201668
Since you also mentioned that the Apple Mobile Device Service was reporting an error as well, here is an article that will help you restart your AMDS:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203188
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
Cheers,
Braden

Feb 5, 2015 6:29 PM in response to ikaizen15by turingtest2,If the above steps haven't helped try installing:
- iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for a 32-bit core program, similar to previous 64-bit releases of iTunes, or roll back to:
- iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
- iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
as appropriate.
