Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue with iTunes launching or quitting unexpectedly. Take a look at the article linked below, which describes a similar issue and suggests removing third-party iTunes plug-ins.

Feb 5, 2015 6:41 PM in response to Jason Lby apple10sinsc,Thanks for the response! I tried it in safe mode and it appears to be working. Thank you! I checked my iTunes plug-in folder, though, and I have no plug-ins. Any other ideas of what might be the problem?
