Q: Old library always opens

I created a new library on another disk, but the old, main library always opens. ???? I hold down option, select the new library, but the old library opens up with none of the music I placed in the new one.

iMac 12,1 10.10.2, iTunes 12.1.50

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 8 gig memory

Did you also change the location info for your iTunes library in iTunes/Preferences/Advanced settings?
Usually the path on your HD looks like this: /Users/<Username>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
change it to the new one by clicking on the button right next to it.

Have you got the method right? See iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one.
