Q: crescent moon - will they replace it

Hey guys.

At the moment I am in Germany.

And i bought my iPhone 6(space grey) in Germany too.

And last week I found out that my phone shows me a big crescent moon in front of the front camera.

Is Apple as nice as I hope and will replace my iPhone.

It doesn't look as good as an new one?

What happened to you as you went to the Apple Store?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3

"Is Apple as nice as I hope and will replace my iPhone.": Yes

"What happened to you as you went to the Apple Store?": They look at the phone, check it's not a software issue, and give you an new one if it is a problem with hardware.

Do not base your expectations upon anyone's accounts.  Each situation is unique.  No one here can possibly speak definitely for Apple.  You will have to present your device to Apple, and the Apple rep will explain your available service options.

But isn't it a well-known problem with the iPhone 6 space grey, that the front camera has this kind of technical construction problems

No, it's not.  There have been reports of it in limited numbers, but it's not a 'well-known' problem.  None of the dozens of iPhone 6 units that I manage exhibit this issue.

Generally, Apple doesn't replace devices for cosmetic only issues.  If your camera is not able to work properly because of this, then that's a non-cosmetic issue.  If it works properly, even with the 'crescent', then it's a cosmetic issue.

Once Apple inspects your device, they will make a decision.  There is no pre-set decision in place.  Each individual's situation can be unique.

And what were the most reactions to the crescent problem.

Actually that was what I wanted to know

It's just because the next Apple Store is over 167 km to me

If the phone is pretty new, they'll probably hand you a new phone. There is a chance they might want to send it off and give you a loaner, but I doubt it.

This forum's rules do not allow for polling.  That's what you're asking to do; gather information from other people's experiences.

No one on this site, or even at Apple, could tell you what the end result will be until Apple has physically inspected the device.

If you don't want to go to an Apple Store, then call Apple Support or go to an Apple Authorized Service Provider.  Check locate.apple.com for your options.
