Q: installed facebook upgrade to my iphone 4 and now i cannot open email messages on my phone

installed a facebook upgrade on my iphone 4.  Now I can no longer open facebook messages on my phone.  It states we moved over to messenger.  and will not allow me to read email any longer.  I can only get on news feed, etc.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1

You have to install the Facebook Messenger app from the App Store. They moved all messages to that system some time ago.
