Aug 9, 2014 11:48 AM in response to IWinULoozby stedman1,It may be to late to prevent YOU from looking like a clown, but to prevent others, you may note that this discussion is regarding an iPhone, not an iPad. Yes, that option is available on an iPad, not on an iPhone.

That is not correct. There was never an option on the iPhone for using the mute switch as the screen rotation lock. There was such an option on the iPad.
Please READ the ENTIRE thread before responding... it saves you from looking silly and the rest of us for calling you out on simple mistakes.

No, it was not. It has NEVER been an option for iOS on an iPhone.
Cite your source. And please, make it interesting. It will be challenging for you to top IWinULooz as the number one 'winner' in this thread (LOL, arguing that an iPhone has a feature just because it's seen on an iPad, that's hilarious!!!), but I'm confident, if you try really hard and eat your Wheaties, you can do it!

I think it's possible that paulbpaulb was asking a question and forgot the proper punctuation.

And I generally have little patience of lack of punctuation.

May 22, 2015 5:35 AM in response to diesel_vdubby mike_d26,Hi, Just a quick note before I reply - I have read the entire thread
I completely understand the option to change what function the side switch handles is only available on the iPad and NOT the iPhone.
However, Albert124 was asked to supply screen shots to show evidence of the problem he has. He posted the pictures and they back up his problem.
diesel_vdub, is this happening to his iPhone because it is Jail-broken?

Sep 13, 2016 4:07 PM in response to Albert124by Kofotsjanne,Hi.
I found this thread with google. Sorry for the bump but i can explain this. I have the same issue as albert.
There was a beta version of ios(i think it was 9, maybe 8) that let you change what side switch do. Either mute or lock rotation. I changed this to lock rotation. But when beta was updated and future removed, i could no longer change it back. Idont even have a mutebuttom in controlcenter.
Not a huge problem but if antone know a solution, please share.

That's because there isn't one on an iPhone.

Sep 14, 2016 2:41 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Kofotsjanne,When i had the beta version that let you change this, there was. How would you else put it to mute? See pictures on first page in this thread.

Sep 15, 2016 5:15 AM in response to Kofotsjanneby Meg St._Clair,What you think had or didn't have in a beta version doesn't matter. You put an iPhone on mute the same way you always have: by using the mute switch above the volume buttons. Slide it toward the back of the phone.
