What version of iPhoto do you have? What version were the problem libraries created with? If it was iphoto '08 (version 7.x.x) or earlier you need to download and run the iphoto library upgrader before launching iphoto 9.6 (required for OS X 10.10.x)

Feb 9, 2015 10:11 AM in response to LarryHNby apfliakas,it is version 8.1. Not sure what the old version was, it wouldn't let me open it at all even after installing upgrade. iPhoto keeps quitting unexpectedly and won't let me open it at all even with the upgrader installed.

Do you have iPhoto 9.6 in your Applications folder? If so then do the following:

2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.
