Q: why does it say someone is not set up with imessage when the other person is in the group chat texting fine and mine is going to my email

I am trying to text my friend. We are in a group message with another person. They are texting fine. I do not get anything... It ALL goes to my email and i can not send anything back to them. What do i do? (I have the new update too.)
