Jan 23, 2015 3:41 PM in response to Malcolm Turnerby ahmetpolat,I've solved this issue by adding "Sandboxing Relaxed" without quotes to /etc/cups/cups-files.conf file.
You can simply execute this command from terminal at your own risk of course.
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf
sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
sudo launchctl start org.cups.cupsd

Feb 3, 2015 9:58 AM in response to Robert36340by nogwater,In case this helps anyone else, here's my solution: enable Bonjour on the printer.
I have a Epson WF-3620 and after upgrading to Yosemite (OS X 10.10), my Macs could no longer find the printer. I tried every solution that I could find online (repairing permissions, reinstalling and upgrading the Epson drivers, relaxing the CUPS permissions, reset printing system, etc...). I also called Epson Support, which was able to walk me through adding the printer by IP. Since that worked, I knew the drivers worked it was just that OS X couldn't locate the printer. The Epson guy suggested that I try calling Apple support, so I did. The Apple guy was nice, but couldn't really help. He did suggest that I try some more time consuming options including creating a new admin user (to rule out that it was my user profile that was the problem) and reinstalling the OS (in case it was corrupt). I did both of those and neither worked.
After sleeping on it, I decided to poke around in the Epson settings via the web interface. To do this, just enter the printer's IP address in a browser that's on the same network (you may have to skip some HTTPS / certificate warnings). From there I looked around until I found Wi-Fi/Network Settings / Services / Protocol. On my system, Use Bonjour was unchecked. I had seen in other people screenshots and videos that when the Add Printer tool works, it shows that it connects via Bonjour Multifunction, so I enabled Bonjour and saved the settings. After waiting a few minutes for the settings to be applied, I was able to add the printer via the Add Printer Default tab (I did change the "Use" setting from "Secure AirPrint" to "Epson WF-3620 Series" option -- I think this is the Epson specific driver).
I don't know if Bonjour is disabled by default or if I turned it off somehow in the past and forgot, but it's an easy enough fix that might work for someone else so I thought I should share.
Good luck!

Feb 4, 2015 11:20 AM in response to General Mischiefby AnnRT,Thank you, thank you, thank you! This fixed my print problem on an HP Officejet pro 8600
I only upgraded one of the computers in the my home because I remembered a similar problem with a previous OS upgrade. I had tried everything previously suggested and nothing worked. Interestingly it would print from the web, but not from Word or any other application.
Everything is now working including scanning.

Feb 10, 2015 7:57 AM in response to Robert36340by lhnshana,I didn't get to read all the replies here, but about halfway into this thread, I realized that my problem was the protocol I was choosing. I am connecting via iP address, so this won't work for auto-discovery...
In system preferences, printers, delete the printer and re-add it. Enter the IP address and experiment with choosing a different protocol from the dropdown list.

Feb 26, 2015 8:32 AM in response to todcpby bobaround123,Hi,
I have an Epson Stylus NX420 and all of a sudden it is hit or miss (mostly miss) when wireless printing
with my two mac laptops running Lion. And now I've upgraded one mac to Yosemite and wireless printing
is not working at all, and I cannot find the correct driver for this printer. I called Epson and they said
that they no longer have this driver. Does anyone know where I might this and would it work with
Lion and Yosemite?
Thanks,
Bob

Feb 26, 2015 8:39 AM in response to bobaround123by mikecaca,Yes I cannot scan to my computer from my HP photo smart c410a since I upgraded to OS10. Apple support helped me scan documents by using "system preferences" to adjust for this problem.

Mar 6, 2015 1:45 PM in response to ahmetpolatby CCarchIT,I can confirm that changing the sandboxing was the final missing puzzle piece in my situation. My Canon printer (iPF-700) has no Yosemite drivers, but we were able to get the 10.8 driver installed, then updated using Canon's 10.9 updater, and things MOSTLY worked. A print would get queued and printed, with the exception that every piece of text, regardless of font, came out as a hollow rectangle. Once we finally found this sandboxing fix, it now works fine!

Mar 11, 2015 3:30 PM in response to SteveHaleby Monk13,Steve, I was trying to move my old Canon Inkjet to my wife's iMac (Yosemite), so I could justify buying myself another one. It didn't work; but I found a guy on YouTube that explained what I needed to do, and it worked. His "thought process" of what to do made sense to me and now I'm up and running printing and scanning. YouTube> search for> OSX Yosemite Canon Printer / Scanner Fix ( by MediaFix) Hope this helps! Cheers

Mar 13, 2015 1:49 PM in response to Robert36340by andrewhmm,I have this issue as well. I upgraded to Yosemite and found that my Canon iP6700D printer wasn't being recognized by the computer. After spending a lot of phone time with Apple, and following all their instructions, which didn't help, they suggested I contact Canon, which I did.
Canon just told me that the printer that I have is no longer supported by Apple or Canon and that I'll have to get a new printer that is compatible with the newer OS (10.10.2) or that I should reinstall 10.8. This is pretty frustrating as the printer is a Pro series and was expensive. It's now a perfectly good printer that's been made obsolete by Apple. Not progress. And a huge amount of time wasted with Apple support (how come they didn't know this????).
