Q: The rear camera on iPhone 5 does not work with Camera but works fine with FaceTime.

My rear camera on iPhone 5 does not work with Camera but works fine with FaceTime. I have tried all of the restart options and other solutions suggested on various forums with no fix. Now trying a complete reset.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.3

    Reset did not work.  Removed all apps from phone that might access camera. Downloaded and installed iOS 8.1.2. Camera worked fine for a few hours. Re-installed Garmin Verb app. Rear camera on the blink again. Repeated the process. Camera started working again.  Installed a few other apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook. Camera stopped working again.

    IF ANYONE AT APPLE ACTUALLY READS THESE FORUMS, THE PROBLEM IS SOFTWARE NOT HARDWARE.

    Hundreds of people with this problem are taking their phones in to have the rear camera replaced.  Good for Apple and my Apple shares but better for Samsung because people are getting p%$$&d off with lousy after sales support.
