Can you control a MacBook Pro's Keynote presentation from an iPad Air 2 without wifi using an HDMI cable?

    Hi AppleSpark,

    The resource below will explain all of your options for the Keynote Remote app.  As you can see from the document, Wi-Fi is the most common connection.  Bluetooth is only supported between iOS devices, not between your iPad and your Mac.     Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth

    When a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable, you can use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth to control your Keynote slideshow from one iOS device to another (but not to a Mac). Slides may take longer to appear on Keynote Remote when connected via Bluetooth.

     

    Note: If your remote device is using iOS 7, it will be unable to control a presentation over Bluetooth on a device using iOS 8 or later.

    • You can use a Mac to create a computer-to-computer network as an alternative to using a local wireless network. This is only recommended if you are using Keynote for Mac 6.1-6.2.2 or Keynote for iOS 2.1-2.4.2.
