Q: Frequent kernel panics-Who can decypher/help?

Iv'e had a number of them since about October.  I've read a lot about KP's and I've done a LOT of troubleshooting, yet.  I know the first question will be, "what have I done?", but I don't have time to start that epic novel right now.  But I'd be happy to give specific details when requested.  My question is: should I go ahead and copy/paste all 12 reports here or is that just irritating?  Maybe someone can see a common thread, or smoking gun,or a blatant, in-your-face "your problem is obvious" kinda thing by looking at them all at once, rather than just the most recent one.  If this seems like something this forum wants to help with, let me know and I'll proceed.  Tx-IA.

That's good. That was the easy part, now the real fun begins.

..."then bring over all your backed up stuff and reinstall any third party applications"...

..."so you must be prepared to redo everything, Mail, network and regular settings, third party apps, photos, music (iTunes library), etc., the whole lot"...

Is this the fun stuff you're referring to?

Hope it isn't too late for this. But maybe you already know.

Been there, did that, but thanks, anyway.  You never know when someone else with a similar situation will read this post and find all this info useful!

Well, let's see.  The re-install was smooth as glass.  I've had problems with it before, so that hour of installing was white knuckles, but all is well in the end.  Haven't installed all my non-Apple applications yet, but I'm up-to date Software Update-wise, anyway.  I'm running on one 1GB stick of RAM until my new Crucial comes in tmro (ran 30 loops of Rember earlier tdy, no issues reported).  Then I'll cut loose.  Hope I never see another KP again in my life, they just creep me!  So far, all's well.  I've been answering email and surfing the net for a couple hours now, MBP's nice and hot, been on since 730 this am, and I've got the settings to not sleep the computer until "never" (cause I was Rember testing).  Can't complain at this particular moment, but pray for me anyway.  Or at least for my old box that I refuse to retire until the day the roof falls off and burns!

Good to hear...so far. And sounds  like the sibling link thing is gone too. Good luck when the new RAM comes.

Thank you!  I haven't asked DU what's up since I re-installed, just hoping for the best.  Maybe tmro after the new RAM goes in I'll be brave enough to take a peek.  Again, I'd like to thank you for you guidance.

I don't spend very much time on these forums now the way I used to. I'm hardly here at all. It got to be pretty much a very repetitive exercise, but with you it's been a pleasure. That is to say, you're welcome.

Thing is, at least one person a day, maybe two, buys a new computer without first having a clue, and if it weren't for generous people like yourself, they may not know what to do with such a useful little tool, especially when some mysterious issue rears it's ugly little head.  I marked that particular post of yours helpful because it covered all the bases I need to assess the KP issue up to this point.  If I could've given 50 points instead of five, I would've.  Cheers!

Could care less about the points, but thank you for all that.
