Photos for MacThere is no way since thee is no access to iCloud Photos from the Mac - this is suppose to be introduced with Photos later this year - until that time no one knows exactly ow it will work or exactly what the limitation will be
And in any case we are users just like you - that would be a question for Apple if it is a problem once the software is released

Feb 13, 2015 8:30 AM in response to LarryHNby Some Crofton Guy,Thanks, Larry. I understand that Photos for Mac is not out yet. I am trying to prepare for when it does come out, how am I supposed to make the transition.
Where might I go to ask Apple, directly?

Feb 13, 2015 8:45 AM in response to Some Crofton Guyby Terence Devlin,It's a bit straightforward really. If the limit is 1tb and you have 1.5 tb of photos, then you can only have 2/3s of your photos in the cloud. So, multiple libraries.

Photos for MacThere is a contact us link at the bottom of every page of these forums - if you have Apple Care you can call them - you ask at an Apple Store
But again until the product is released no one knows and Apple does not speculate on unreleased products
If the released product has a limit smaller than your library then you will have to make multiple libraries or only put selected photos on iCloud
And that is a giant library - I have over 70,0 with over half 16 MP RAW images and my library is only 389 GB - are you looking at the size of the phtos in iPhoto or the size of the disk file which is much large since it includes multiple versions, database files and other items?
