Feb 14, 2015 10:25 AM in response to kurt52by lllaass,If your MacBook pro has an HDMI or display port video outout you can connect it to TV with an HDMI or DVI input. With DVI yo have to seperatley provide audio.
You can get adopters for an iPad that will conect to a TV's HDMI and VGA input. With VGA yuu need separate audio input.
You r Mac does not natively support video mirroring to an Apple TV

Depending upon the iPad model, you can AirPly the iPad to Mac using
http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/
You can also, with that app, AirPlay the Mac to an Apple TV
There is also this wifi dongle that connects to an HDMI input on a TV

Your MacBook may be too old for proper Airplay mirroring with an Apple-TV:
