I Recently brought a iBook G4 but it did not come with a charger, the model number is an A1010, the bottom of the battery says it's a 10.8V so what charger can I get for it.

There is a generic AC power adapter that will work OK for most of the

iBook and PowerBook G4 portable computers, this company has one

and I've seen listings elsewhere. I was given one of these and they are

fairly well made. Usually I look for Apple hardware accessories so as to

have a spare of this kind of item; mostly I have the original gear, though.

If you end up replacing the battery in an iBook G4, note the capacity of

the battery and that of the charger, would be of higher specification if it

is a 14-inch display compared to a 12-inch display. The batteries as

seen at OWC macsales for the white iBook model reflect this. Their

generic charger (link below) is sufficient for all models PPC portable G4.

For official power adapters (if located in rummage, second-hand, or other

location) you can look at this information to match adapter to original

model series Power Adapter for PPC-based Mac Notebook. To identify...

Second hand or thrift stores can be a place to look locally, or yard sales,

moving sales, school clearance sales of old gear, etc. For under $30 an

item such as this would be a good product. Someone said they saw a

generic adapter stated for use with iBook G4 or PowerBook, at walmart.

When looking elsewhere for portable Apple computer power adapters,

be sure to Not get one for a MacBook with the magsafe ends since these

won't work and there is no way to connect or use these with old iBk/PBk.

Auction or other sources for an adapter with the old-style cylindrical plug

(not newer magsafe) can be a place to look. I see a search result shows

several including image views... The 14" iBook uses a higher output OEM

adapter than the 12" iBook; the larger power is OK to replace lower power.

Anyway, hopefully this helps. You may also need to read-up on how to reset

the Power Management Unit and some other routine things PPCs may need.

Be aware the batteries of this era were not long lasting, compared to MacBook

so you'd likely need to replace an iBook G4/G3 or PowerBook G4 battery much

sooner than someone with a newer series MacBook/Pro, etc. Note the same

company whose new power adapter link I posted, has new iBook batteries.

There's also information on how to reset PRAM. The command for this has

not changed much, though for some newer Macs the name is NVRAM reset.
