Check your Gatekeeper settings since the files you are trying to open are "new." - http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491

Feb 14, 2015 10:53 PM in response to PilotPJby VikingOSX,You are using the Adobe Acrobat PDF plug-ins for Safari. To write a PDF viewed in this manner to disk, you must use the Save icon within the Acrobat Reader plug-in, and not Safari's File > Export to PDF (which will damage a PDF viewed with the Reader plug-in).
The Adobe Acrobat Reader browser plug-in will present two different panels for saving/printing PDF content:
- A pointer activated floating panel near the bottom center of the displayed PDF

- A fixed panel along the top of the displayed PDF

In either case, you want to click the floppy disk icon to correctly save the viewed PDF.
