Q: Downloaded, installed, and ran the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool but still unable to use iPhoto. Any suggestions why this isn't working?

So, iPhoto on my MacBook Pro is repeatedly telling me that "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared. To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader available from Apple." At this point, it gives you the options to Quit or Learn More. After clicking the Learn More button, I am taken here (iPhoto '11 or later: About the Library Upgrader - Apple Support) and after installing the iPhoto Upgrader Tool (and running it through the Utilities folder like prompted) I am told from the iPhoto Upgrader Tool that "You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto." and prompts me to Quit. However, after doing so, I am still told that I cannot open my library and must install the Library Upgrader Tool. Am I missing a step or is there something else wrong here? I just need to be able to open iPhoto properly for normal use. I have attached the photo of both the prompt given through the iPhoto Library Upgrader Tool (which is the one closest to the top right corner) as well as the prompt given when trying to open iPhoto normally (closest to the bottom right corner). FYI, I am NOT trying to do these two things simultaneously, I simply did so in order to screen grab both prompts. Regardless of the order in which I try to do either task, I am still unable to open iPhoto.

Go into your Applications folder and right-click on your iPhoto app icon, select Get Info.  List what version of iPhoto it says.  Also list what version of OS X you are running in case it's not version 10.6.2 as your hardware profile currently states in your post.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)

This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.

Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

So after  checking on the info for iPhoto it lists the version as 9.6. As far as my version of OS X, I'm using OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2.
