Q: I just got a 160 gig classic and when I hook up to my computer it freezes iTunes regardless of the computer or iTunes version. I have formatted and reset on the ipod itself and still a no go. Please help!!

Please help me figure out my iPod classic issue. I just got this off of Craigslist and it had music on it so I hooked up to my computer to reset it in iTunes and when it was done it now locks up my computer and my iTunes. I have formatted it on another PC without iTunes and have tried on different versions of Windows and iTunes. Please help!

Howdy OmahaaSurfer,

It sounds like your iPod Classic is making the computer unresponsive when you try to sync new data to it after having restored it to erase the previous info. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you determine what might be happening here, named:

iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
